Only from Activ - Automated Tests for the New BCS Word Processing Level 1 Unit

This new, single unit qualification can be taken alongside ECDL (for example to provide a natural progression for candidates from ECDL Essentials) or as a basic introduction to Word Processing.

Initially, the BCS are offering free registration for the unit until September 2008, but only for candidates who are already registered for ECDL Essentials or ECDL Extra. The L1WP qualification became available as a stand-alone product for a nominal registration charge of £10 plus VAT from January 2008.  To order Candidate Registrations, please go to the 'Order Word Processing Level 1 Registrations' form which can be found on the 'Orders' tab in the Approved Centre Forum on the BCS web site via this link ►►►

Activ now have Level 1 Word Processing (L1WP) auto-tests available 

The Activ L1WP tests are free to existing ActivTest customers for a limited period – until 31st January 2008 - in quantities of 20 candidate registrations at a time.  Activ customers with only Activ courseware and not the ActivTest system, will be charged a one-off £100 licence fee.

How to request your L1WP tests

If you would like to have these registrations and tests added to your ActivTest account, please raise a standard Purchase Order for 20 L1WP test licences at no charge or for a licence fee of £100 (see above).  Then, when you have used these, you can request more.  In fact you can do so as soon as you have less than 10 test packs remaining (although you cannot have more than 20 unused test packs at any point).

Please note that you do not need to give us named candidates.  You can simply register the candidate for this qualification into the ActivTest system when the candidate is ready to take the test.  The ActivTest system will apply a unique BCS registration number to the candidate automatically.

Certification

Certification for the Unit will be automatic, and a certificate will be issued by the BCS shortly after a successful test result.

Level 1 Word Processing Training

We have not developed specific materials for this unit because candidates will be able to use the ECDL Module 3 (BCS Level 2) training materials in order to prepare for the Word Processing Level 1 tests.
