“Some of you may recognise me from my previous life as ECDL Sales & Client Relations Manager at the BCS” says Kevin. “For nearly 6 years, reporting to Peter Bayley, Director of BCS Qualifications, my responsibilities were to manage the ECDL Customer Service Department and a number of BCS ECDL Account Managers. I carried out various projects, but I feel that the most rewarding for me was to design and implement the new BCS ITQ structure, working with e-Skills, the QCA and with system designers in making sure that BCS ITQ became what it is today”.
Kevin still lives in Wiltshire just a few miles from the BCS Head Office in Swindon. “Before joining the BCS I was a Training Manager for a large organisation for 10 years, managing and delivering a full range of employee training, from professional IT programmes to time management courses. This is when I discovered ECDL and it led to my decision to join the BCS”.
Now Kevin is at Activ, he is able to offer his extensive knowledge and experience of ECDL to Activ customers. “One of my current responsibilities is to help existing and prospective customers understand changes to the ECDL in the shape of the V4.5 Syllabus that takes effect on September 1st, and the Syllabus V5 changes that are due to be implemented in September 2008. I want all Activ’s customers to feel relaxed in the knowledge that we, as their supplier, have all the changes in hand and will make sure that they are fully up to speed on them.”
Meanwhile, Kevin also manages ‘ActivDirect’, a new department within Activ that has the responsibility for educating those organisations that have not yet invested in the benefits of using Activ’s market-leading interactive courseware and automated testing software products! “Activ is the only BCS approved supplier that has courseware and testing solutions covering five BCS Qualifications. The high quality of the products and the customer support service were a key reason for me wanting to join Activ.”, he adds.
Kevin, who has three grown-up children, enjoys keeping fit and has a passion for motorbikes. “I used to race them a few years ago”, he says. “I own a Harley-Davidson and occasionally use it to travel over to Activ’s HQ in Bedford – weather permitting!”
