‘e-type’ – the key to increased test activity for BCS Test Centres!

e-type is a new BCS Qualification on touch-typing.  Launched just over a year ago, it has proved to be extremely popular.  With 300 BCS Test Centres now accredited to run e-type, and with, already, nearly 3500 candidates registered for the qualification, it is growing at breakneck pace!

The key to extra funding?

e-type is the only touch-typing qualification on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).  Therefore, it is eligible for funding.  More formally known as ‘the BCS Level 2 in Touch-Typing’, it is registered with the NQF as attracting 40 ‘guided learning hours’.

Get accredited now – it’s FREE!

As an accredited BCS Test Centre, it will cost you nothing to get accredited to run the e-type qualification.  Simply visit the Approved Centre Forum on the BCS web site and complete the online application form and you will receive a decision from the BCS within 10 days.  Once you have been accredited, you will be able to place orders for e-type directly with the BCS, again, online via their Approved Centre Forum.

 

ActivTest – the only e-type testing system!

 

e-type consists of interactive courseware and automated testing software, in one convenient candidate registration package.  If you are an ActivTest customer, using Activ’s ECDL or e-Citizen testing software, then you already have the test system for e-type!  This is because ActivTest is the only test system that delivers the e-type tests.  When you order e-type from the BCS, they will notify us to add e-type tests to your ActivTest system.  This means that you will be able to manage and deliver your e-type tests through the same system that you use for your ECDL/e-Citizen tests.  It couldn’t be easier!

 

What’s more, getting support for e-type courseware and tests is so easy because the Activ Support Desk handles it!  So you will have the same telephone number for e-type as you use for your ECDL or e-Citizen testing - and the same top quality support service!

Great value for money

Each e-type candidate registration includes the interactive e-type courseware, three test attempts, and a certificate for successful candidates in up to three different grades, which reflects touch-typing speed and accuracy.  At £35 per candidate (or £40 if candidates opt for the new ‘cool’ e-type Memory Stick courseware version), e-type represents fantastic value for money.
