Increase Keyboard Typing Skills:
Gain Speed, Accuracy and Efficiency with e-type

From the BCS: "The average PC user at work can save around 10 hours per week (That's 21 days per year by learning how to touch-type)."

We think that the e-type qualification is ideal for developing one of the most necessary skill areas for any staff who regularly use a keyboard.

For the investment of a few training hours, keyboard users can develop accurate and fast touch typing skills that can improve their working efficiency in a hugely cost effective way. The time savings for carrying out keyboard tasks, and the resultant increases in productivity, represent real savings for your organisation that will cover the training costs many times over within the year. For the learner, the end of course tests provide accreditation and certification from the British Computer Society (BCS) that is a valuable addition to any CV, and a solid skill standard for employers.

The e-type qualification is also the only recognised touch-typing qualification on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF).

The e-type package can be provided by any BCS Test Centre, and provides a full interactive training course that can be carried out at work or at home, at the learner's own pace. Once ready to evaluate the level of skill attained, the learner sits an automated 5 minute test that is electronically marked to provide instant feedback on the speed and accuracy of the typing. If needed, further practice can be undertaken, and the test re-sat another 2 times to gain an improved standard.
For full details of the e-type qualification, and how to implement it for your organisation, visit the BCS e-type website through this link ►►►. If you are already an accredited BCS Test Centre, you can also access an evaluation of the e-type training software at the site.
